Mary Pat Fitzpatrick
Yoga Instructor
In 2002, trying to find relief from a shoulder injury, Mary Pat purchased a book on yoga and was instantly intrigued. She began practicing Ashtanga yoga and attended numerous teacher trainings with Beryl Bender Birch. With a desire to teach, Mary Pat participated in several Baptiste Vinyasa Flow teacher trainings. She began teaching at the YMCA, The Yoga Path, and to students with Multiple Sclerosis at Fairview Southdale Hospital. Mary Pat is a certified 200-hour RYT, is a member of the Yoga Alliance and currently teaches yoga to older adults at the YMCA. In 2007, Mary Pat saw Matthew Sanford on KARE 11- TV. Matthew said he wanted to work with veterans and “help them breathe.” She instantly knew she wanted to help with Matthew’s mission. Mary Pat soon took her first Iyengar yoga class and, in December 2007, began volunteering with Matthew’s adaptive yoga class at Courage Center. CONNECTING with people nourishes Mary Pat and she feels especially blessed to be part of the beautiful and growing community at Mind Body Solutions. Mary Pat enjoys spending time with her husband Pat and being humbled by their three amusing teenage boys.
