Ana Killingstad
Adaptive Yoga Instructor
Ana brings an international flavor to Mind Body Solutions. She is a Brazilian who is fluent not only in four languages, but also in the mind-body connection. When Ana was a girl growing up in England, her mother introduced her to the healing power of touch. Years later, she began studying energy-work in earnest, including Reiki, aura balancing, healing touch and tai chi. She pursued these studies while living in various countries including Mexico, Hong Kong, France and finally the United States. Ana had always been interested in yoga, but did not practice consistently until 2001 when she began studying privately with Momi Jhung.
Ana was the first student to walk through the doors at Mind Body Solutions and has supported Mind Body Solutions in various ways, from studio operations to teaching yoga. Her CALM PRESENCE has been an asset to our students and our organization. She has assisted Matthew Sanford in his adaptive yoga class at Courage Center since 2003 and began co-teaching an adaptive yoga class with Andy Lear in 2008. She plays a vital role in Mind Body Solutions’ community outreach at Courage Center and participates in the adaptive yoga training program. Ana believes that working with people living with disabilities gives even more meaning and purpose to everything she has learned. She will begin teaching an adaptive yoga class at the Mind Body Solutions studio in May 2009.
